How to Find the Right E-Liquid

If you’re new to the world of vaping, finding the right e-liquid to go with your new hardware can be a tough task.

The Dilemma

Each of the brick-and-mortar vape shops you go into carry completely different e-liquids and brands. If you order e-liquid online, it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of overly hyped liquids that may or may not work for you, since you can’t sample them. With literally hundreds of e-liquid companies available to discover and new ones popping up every day, it can become overwhelming to find the right e-liquid for you and your new device.

So, you sample a few differe nt liquids in the store, decide you’ve found one or two that you like, and head home to fill up your tank and get to vaping. Little do you know that once you’re home, the e-liquid is either too thick, too runny, you hear gurgling sounds, or the taste isn’t the same as it was in the store. Frustrated, your search for a better vaping experience continues.

This cycle can go on for a long time, unless you know what kind of e-liquids to look for.

Background Info on Eliquid Bases

Eliquids are made with two base ingredients: propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerine (VG). Generally, PG, which has a very thin consistency, carries the flavor in the e-liquid, while VG, which has a much thicker consistency, produces the vapor. Eliquids are created with many different varieties of PG and VG.

The reality is that there are a couple distinct types of e-liquid and, depending on the device you use, you’ll find that one type will work better than the others.

Eliquid Designed for Big Flavor

Rocket Fuel Vapes e-liquids are made with roughly 60% PG and 40% VG. Our blends are crafted to be heavy-hitters in terms of flavor, designed to really pack a punch. Since our e-liquids are made with more PG than VG, they have a slightly thin consistency, compared with high-VG e-liquids. For many types of beginner tanks and even intermediate hardware, such as sub-ohm tanks, Rocket Fuel Vapes e-liquids work wonderfully, producing great flavor while creating a lot of vapor.

Finding the Right Eliquid for Your Device

If you use a tank setup and you’re having trouble finding a juice with a lot of flavor, chances are you’re using high-VG e-liquids that aren’t doing the trick. High-VG liquids are extremely tough to use in a tank, because they are thick, clog up the system and because they carry much less flavor.

When you first start out in vaping, you’ll hear a lot of people talk about high-VG or max-VG e-liquids. Some even claim to be 100% VG, which is nearly impossible, as almost every flavoring ingredient uses a base of PG. These high-VG blends are designed for advanced personal vaporizers (APVs) or mechanical mods, which the vaper drips onto the coils, rather than using a tank. The reason someone using a mechanical mod would want high-VG e-liquid is because a thicker consistency is needed when dripping liquid. Some drippers also prefer high-VG e-liquid because it allows them to blow large vapor clouds.

Essentially there are two types of e-liquids: those for use in tanks (higher PG blends), and those for dripping with mechanical mods (higher VG blends).

Rocket Fuel Vapes Eliquids

Rocket Fuel Vapes e-liquids are not designed to be used with mechanical mods. Although, we do have many customers who drip our liquids and they enjoy them.

If you’ve tried Rocket Fuel Vapes e-liquids and you enjoy the flavors, make sure to use the right equipment and you’ll have the best experience possible. We recommend many variations of tanks and sub-ohm tanks, as they produce the best combination of flavor and vapor. There are lots of great resources out there to point you in the direction of the best tank system for you.
